
Ted Izydor is a licensed mental health and addiction counselor, clinical supervisor and trainer with 25 years in the field.
Ted specializes in working with people struggling with substance use and addiction, and in supporting people in active recovery to live the life they truly want to live. He has worked with adolescents, adults, couples and families in outpatient, intensive outpatient, residential and in-home settings.
His approach blends positive psychology and professional coaching with evidence-based clinical practice. Sessions are a safe, supportive and confidential place where people can be themselves and build the success they deserve.
Training the helpers
Since 2015, Ted has focused on training mental health and addiction counselors through Full Potential Training. He is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), a national ASAM Criteria trainer, and a university lecturer at UW-Whitewater.
Earlier in his career Ted helped build programs in addiction and domestic violence treatment, including the Alternatives to Aggression program, violence-prevention groups in high schools, and trainings for police. He has shared expert perspective on addiction and recovery on television and radio.

Living full out
Ted is the founder of FullPotentialNow.org, an addiction and recovery blog and podcast. Outside of work he is a global volunteer. He started a massage program at an HIV/AIDS clinic in Kenya and has volunteered with Agrace Hospice Care since 2008. He is also a competitive triathlete and a Wisconsin IRONMAN finisher.
